(Tuesday) -- Indiana Pacers guard Chris Duarte played in a warm-up match Monday evening ahead of the world cup qualifiers at the month's end. The Dominican national team faced the University of Saint Johns as they prepared for a match on Aug. 25.
Duarte was impressive in his first outing since playing for the Indiana Pacers during summer league. He posted 29 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Duarte showcased his range, and while I can't find an official box score, the highlights are pretty.

(Wednesday) -- The Indiana Pacers schedule has been officially announced as of 3:00 PM EST. While this upcoming season has no expectations attached, there are still some dates on the calendar to watch for 2022-23.
The Indiana Pacers will open their season at home on Oct. 19th, 2022
Indiana will start the season with a three-game homestand, headed by a home opener against the Washington Wizards. The following two will be against the San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit Pistons. This means we will see Bennedict Mathurin face off against former Purdue standout Jaden Ivey as two lottery picks in the draft and now Indiana ties.
We have known the Preseason will begin in early October, but now we can examine the entirety of this team’s season to see how tough it could be in 2022-23.
Tyrese Haliburton returns to Sacramento as the Pacers face the Kings on Nov. 30. This will be a meeting between the two franchises for the second time since the trade last season, which netted Haliburton to the Pacers.
This isn't the first time the two teams have met, however. They faced each other on Mar. 23rd last season, but Domantas Sabonis did not play in that matchup. So this could be the first time we see Myles Turner go up against Sabonis since neither of them was available to play in the first meeting.
Indiana will have 14 back-to-backs this season, which is less of a worry for this younger team than in years past. Victor Oladipo was rarely cleared to play in those games, and Malcolm Brogdon struggled too in his stint with the team.
Speaking of Victor Oladipo, will he make his long-awaited return to Gainbridge Fieldhouse? The Indiana Pacers face the Miami Heat on Nov. 4, 2022, at home. If he does play, it would be his first game back in 585 days — his last game was Jan. 9, 2021. Oladipo signed a two-year deal worth in the range of $18 million to return to Miami this offseason.
The Indiana Pacers will have 14 back-to-back games on this season's schedule. Here is a breakdown of those games by month:
OCT: 2 (SAS + DET), (WAS + BKN)
NOV: 2 (HOU + ORL), (LAC + LAL)
DEC: 3 (POR + GSW), (WAS + BKN), (NOP + ATL)
JAN: 3 (ATL + MEM), (DEN + PHX), (CHI + ORL
FEB: 2 (LAL + SAC), (PHX + WAS)
MAR: 2 (CHI + PHI), (BOS + ATL)
APR: 0
Another one of the exciting games I noticed was Dec. 7th, against the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks, who not only have Trae Young and Dejounte Murray but 2/3 of the Holiday brothers as well. After being traded from Phoenix, Aaron Holiday found a home in Atlanta. After being traded from the Sacramento Kings, Justin Holiday was welcomed back to Atlanta. Justin spent the blank season with the team previously.

Indiana has one of the more challenging schedules in the league this season, in part due to their predicted lack of overall skill. Not to say this team isn’t competitive, but a learning curve is at least presumed at this point The chart above is a good breakdown of the team’s strength of schedule and this visual helps to see where the team could struggle.
The Indiana Pacers will have a tough stretch to end the month of December — having to face all of Golden State, Cleveland, Boston, Miami, and the LA Clippers before the change of the year. Then, they’ll take on Philadelphia and Toronto (who walloped the Pacers last season) to start 2023.
Overall, I feel like the schedule isn’t as vital as I did in the seasons prior. The sole thing I am looking for in 2022-23 is the metamorphosis from the young core in terms of chemistry and fit as the Pacers build a new era in Indiana. Nonetheless, I am thrilled to fill my evening with this glorious team on my television in the coming months
